Yellow, Orange, Green, Blue/Purple and Brown belts each have their own Ippon Kumite. All types are listed below.

What: One step sparring (2 Jodan, 2 Chudan, usually on your own timing)
For Tournaments: Yellow Belts, Orange Belts
For Grading: Orange Belts, Green Belts
Both sides stand Yoi (feet shoulder width apart)
Ready: Attacking side steps right leg back gedan-barai (down block). Defending side stands Yoi.
First side (attacking), announce “Jodan” (it means I’m attacking your facelevel). Step forward and punch their face. The second side (defending) steps back with their right leg blocking Age uke (rising block), then counters (usually just gyaku-tsuki)
Ready
Repeat.
First side (attacking), announce “Chudan” (it means I’m attacking your stomach level). Step forward and punch their stomach. The second side (defending) steps back with their right leg blocking Soto uke (outisde block), then counters (by now you should have done at least 1 of: Haito, Teisho, Empi, Earl-tsuki).
Ready
Repeat.
Yoi
Switch sides, and repeat.

What: One step sparring: Jodan, Chudan, Mae geri (plus Kekomi)
For Tournaments: Green Belts, Purple Belts
For Grading: Purple Belts
Both sides stand Yoi
Ready: Attacking side steps right leg back gedan-barai (down block). Defending side stands Yoi.
Attacking side announce their attack each time. The defending side responds “Osu” and steps back and blocks, countering immediately after each attack.

Switch sides and repeat.
